What, how and why should you publish?

Becoming a published author is still the most effective way to raise your profile, build credibility and be recognised as the expert in your field. By publishing a book you take your message out to a much wider audience than you can possibly speak to in person.

Today there are so many ways to publish a book and if you find it confusing we’re not surprised! The publishing industry has played its part in mystifying the whole process of publishing and the so-called vanity presses have also done their best to confuse.

Our aim is to remove the smoke and mirrors and tell it as it is! We can either work together to turn you into a successful self-publisher, or we can present your idea to a traditional publishing house. Either way, we will guarantee to explore which route will work best to fit with your publishing and business plan.

The fee for a publishing orientation session with Sue Richardson is £500. This 5-6 hour session is designed to answer any questions you have as well as to get you started on your publishing plan.

Many people find it helpful to explore the following:

  • What are your reasons for publishing? We will
craft a mission statement together that will help
you focus on your intention for the book.
  • Non-fiction books are almost always bought and
read to solve a particular problem that the reader
has. What problem will your book solve? This will
help us to define the marketplace for your book.
  • We will explore the various publishing routes that
are open to you. Should you:

    • Self-publish on your own – and if so how?
    • Self-publish with help – and if so how?
    • Sell your idea to a publisher?
